Chaoui Berber

The girls dance Abdaoui  in pairs to an 8/8 rhythm with small quick steps; they make small turns while moving around the Bendou.  The dance seems like they are gliding.  They dance back to back and stamp with one foot to keep time.  By this foot movement, the ankle bracelets, khalkhal, make noise.

They hold on to their dress with two hands and hold between two fingers, i.e., thumb and index finger that makes it appear like they have wings.

With this gesture they give thanks to the name H'djilette (Pheasant) - they look like two wings of a flying bird (H'ajal means Pheasant).

Zindali: Originally from the border of Tunisia and Algeria, this dance is from  Andulsian Popular.  It is normally performed with scarves and sharp upper pelvic and stomach movements.

Pharonic:

Although no one truly knows today how this dance was actually performed, we teach our fantasy version of
an Egyptian Temple Dance.
